This sacred mountain, known locally as Ying-a Swa (Eagle Mountain), is located on Taiwan's northeast coast. The many large, naturally vulture-shaped rocks are reminiscent of the original Spirit Vulture Peak in India and so, with this strong spiritual connection in mind, after Master Hsin Tao decided to practice here and establish a monastery for saving all living beings, he suggested changing the name to Ling Jiou (Spirit Vulture) Mountain.
