Mr. Bawa Jain

World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders at the United Nations,
Mr Bawa Jain, flew into Taipei in April 2001 to take part in events and
interviews. While attending the MWR¡¦s Opening-year National Membership Representative
Conference, he also presented Dharma Master Hsin Tao with a Certificate
as a Member of the Consultative Committee of the Millennium World Peace
Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders. They then jointly announced the
good news that the MWR will formally open on Nov. 9th, 2001.
After concluding his visit, Mr. Jain accompanied Master Hsin Tao to Japan,
where in the aftermath of the Afghan destruction of Buddhist statues, they
announced the establishment of a Commission to Protect the World¡¦s Sacred
Sites. This focused on earlier attacks on ancient Buddhist statues by the
Afghan Taliban government, and seeks to confront the continued destruction
of millennium-old treasured religious and cultural relics around the globe.
This international organization will also request the Afghan government
to stop the destruction of religious and cultural artifacts.
