Kashmiri Muslims clash again with Indian government over ˇ§holy hairˇ¨

The Indian state of Gujarat, which was still reeling from casualties in religious conflicts, saw even more fighting recently (March 13), prompting street fights between Indian security troops and Muslims in Kashmir.

The incident began from dissatisfaction with a Hindu parliamentarian who claimed in a newspaper article that a hair relic housed in a Srinagar shrine did not come from the bearf of the Prophet Mohammad, but from a Hindu priest. Local muslims believed the article blasphemed their faith and mass anger led to the riots.
