"Devote half the surface of the Earth to nature. In order to stave off the mass extinction of species, including our own, we must move swiftly to preserve the biodiversity of our planet."
— Edward Osborne Wilson, Father of Biodiversity
What would happen to our world if species around us dwindled day by day, and the diversity within our children faded away piece by piece?
“Beyond One Hundred: A Project for Various Kids II” is a continuation and evolution of the “Beyond One Hundred: A Project for Various Kids”
Water, the cradle of life, is the first sanctuary for all living beings.
In the aftermath of fierce storms, driftwood becomes a vital habitat, a sanctuary of biodiversity, offering refuge to organisms while enveloping visitors in its natural embrace.
The creation of an ecosystem is not shaped by a single species, but by the intricate interactions among myriad plants, animals, and their environment.
This exhibition, set against the backdrop of streams in Wulai District, New Taipei City, highlights Taiwan’s keystone species, including the Formosan black bear and other endemic creatures. It serves as a guide for us humans, as integral members of this environment, to appreciate the beauty and poignancy of the living creatures that share our world.
Conservation is not only about protecting biodiversity but also about preserving the diversity within our children and safeguarding the compassion and kindness that reside in our hearts, fostering mutual dependence and coexistence.
Through interactive experiences, visitors are invited to reflect on how we can live in harmony with the diverse species of the natural world.

Enter the Forest
Imagine a gentle stream meandering through the wilderness. Tiny life forms sprout from driftwood, drawing curious wild animals to their midst. Amidst this lively scene, a playful black bear cub notices something amiss. Its mother is nowhere to be found! Where did she go?
Embarking on a journey to find its mother, the little black bear ventures across diverse landscapes, encountering unique species found only in Taiwan. Together, they hide within the forest’s embrace. Each creature is extraordinary!
Yet strangely, they seem fewer and fewer in number. What is happening? Let’s join the little black bear on an adventure, listening to the whispers of the wild.
Communicate with Human Beings
Nature is home to a variety of wild animals, sharing the same land. Can you recognize them?
When humans encounter wildlife, how do both sides behave, and what emotions arise?
Why can children in indigenous communities live side by side with wild animals? Could it be their ability to respect these creatures?
What changes happen when humans intervene? The Wildlife Rescue and Research Center (WRRC) saves countless injured or ill animals, but how can we truly coexist and support one another in this delicate balance?
Shelter
Humans and animals alike have their own habitats and shelters. May we, together with all species, protect this shared "home" — our Earth.
As we strive to preserve the diversity of children and provide shelters for their hearts, we must also extend our care to the survival rights of all living beings. Living interdependently, we can share the joy of life’s interconnectedness. Let’s work together to build a sustainable, harmonious, and beautiful world.
