At the heart of this section is a black stone statue of Vairocana Buddha from the 11th-century Pala Dynasty, also known as Mahāvairocana. This figure symbolizes the ultimate wisdom and boundless radiance of the Dharmakāya Buddha. The name Vairocana means “all-pervading light,” representing the cosmic truth that dispels ignorance and illuminates all directions. In the Buddhist doctrine of the Three Bodies, the Dharmakāya embodies the “true nature of reality,” complementing the manifested form of Śākyamuni Buddha and revealing a complete cosmological vision.

Stepping into this space feels like entering a secluded stone cave, the clamor of the outside world fades away, replaced by a heavy, hushed stillness. You may gaze upon Vairocana Buddha, seated serenely on a black stone lotus pedestal. His hands form the Dharmachakra mudra, and his body emits a calm, profound luster—not a dazzling surface glow, but a radiance akin to the light of inner wisdom and meditative clarity: tranquil and unfaultering.

The statue reflects the mature realism of the Pala Dynasty style, marked by the finely crafted three-leafed crown, the serene and focused expression, and the lions carved into the lotus pedestal.
