有些博物館展出戰爭的殘酷歷史，以提醒人類的悲痛，警告世人應
該和平，但卻加深了人類歷史的仇恨記憶，並不能停止世界的苦難。
國際博物館協會 ICOM 呼籲 21 世紀的博物館應該為人類的和平、
為地球的永續做更多的努力。
本館以傳達「尊重、包容與博愛」為宗旨而籌建，透過不同宗教文
化溝通的方式，以及「心和平世界就和平」的信念去傳達「愛與和平」
的生命教育。這是創辦人心道法師立下的目標。
幸福的根本之道，來自內心的和平、喜悅與寬愛。學習回到內心深
處的安靜，分享謙和的喜悅，持續養成生活習慣。
博物館做和平教育，首先需要讓觀眾獲得這樣的信息，感覺和平喜
悅的氛圍與建立和平的信念。
生命教育是本館的「品牌」。我們的展覽主題與內容並不止於一般
博物館以藝術、歷史與科學為取向。而是透過展覽主題的選擇、詮釋，
以五觀效果去引導觀眾產生和平認知與內心深處的感動。我們的蒐藏與
藏品詮釋，應不止於文物學與藝術史風格學的研究範疇，而應該綜理出
宗教文化的象徵與生命教育的意涵。我們的教育推廣活動應該提示和平
與博愛的實踐。我們的職工也要練習心的和平喜悅，才能真正的友愛服
務，彼此共勉。
一個嶄新的「生命教育資源中心」即將在 2019 年春推出，在六樓
有 200 多坪的空間。這將開放給大眾參觀與運用。20 年來本館推動和
平與博愛的的歷史資源，透過多媒體、紀錄片、資料庫等介紹我們做過
的展覽、活動、教案、典藏及出版等，利用智慧科技，共享和平教育資
源。

Some museums exhibit the cruel
history of wars as a reminder of the grief
of mankind and a promotion for world
peace. However, such exhibition somehow
deepens the memories of hatred in human
history instead of stopping the sufferings
in the world.
International Council of Museums
(ICOM) urges that museums in the 21st
century should make more efforts towards
a harmonious world and a sustainable
Earth.
The Museum of World Religions
(MWR) was founded on the concepts of
“Respect, Tolerance, and Love”. MWR
promotes the life education of “Love and
Peace” through interfaith dialogues and
the life-education programs of “When
the mind is at peace, the world is at
peace.” This is the mission set by founder
Venerable Master Hsin Tao. The Resource
Center of Life-Education will be open to
the public, pupils and students in spring
2019.
