Horus, usually depicted as a falconheaded figure, was one of the sun gods in ancient Egyptian beliefs, representing the sun in the middle of the day, and a symbol of the pharaoh's power. Horus is usually depicted wearing a pschent, or a red and white crown, as a symbol of kingship over the entirety of Upper and Lower Egypt. Such small statues were often placed in the temple of Horus as sacrificial offerings.
