The word “Torah” in Torah Crown refers to the Torah. The Torah is removed from this magnificent crown during the worship service in a synagogue. For in the Jewish faith, Torah is considered the word of God, which in itself is as noble as a crown symbolizing supreme authority above all else. Made in the early 20th century CE in Poland, this Torah crown in the museum collection is made of silver and fits over a wooden scroll attached to a Torah. One can observe bells adorning all sides of the crown. These bells make a sound when Torah is taken out to indicate that Torah has been taken out.
